What You Should Know
1. INTECU: Information Technology and Communications Unit – The ICT unit of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, responsible for the provision of the following ICT services: network infrastructure, enterprise network services, client network access, institutional web site management, Internet access, renewable energy for ICT deployment, ICT training & e-learning, and Information Security.
2. ICT Infrastructure & Equipment: This describes equipment that enables Internet access/connectivity, and includes any of the following: wireless access points (WiFi), network switches, network cable points, fibre optic cabling (FOC), fibre media converters, network cabinets, etc.
3. Subnet: This is the generic term used for a faculty and departmental network location, comprising of several network users.

SERVICE DESCRIPTION

SIA Perks
The OAU STUDENT INTERNET ACCESS PLATFORM provides the following:

a. Fully personalized institutional (OAU) email address.
i. An email address (e.g) c.ogundipe@student.oauife.edu.ng will be provided.
ii. Students will be able to continue using the oauife.edu.ng email even after the expiration of the subscription
b. An Internet subscription plan for one month.
i. A username (e.g) c.ogundipe@student.oauife.edu.ng OR a.oladiran@pg.student@oauife.edu.ng will be provided for internet access.
c. Student-friendly data volume and data speed.
i. 10GB MONTHLY DATA CAP, 500MB DAILY DATA CAP.
d. Student-friendly pricing plan to guarantee value for money
i. Monthly subscription cost = N1,000 (exclusive of REMITA charges)

ICT INFRASTRUCTURAL OWNERSHIP

Who Owns What
a. INTECU-OAU will purchase, install, configure and maintain all ICT Infrastructure and Equipment.
b. INTECU may license some user-groups to purchase some equipment, but the installation configuration and maintenance will be the responsibility of INTECU.

TESTING & ACCEPTANCE

Program to run "as is"
a. This subscription plan is provided in full understanding of the STUDENT and provider (INTECU) that it will be operated on the existing (as at July 1, 2019) operational status of the OAU campus ICT infrastructure.

ACCEPTABLE USE

What You can't Do
a. All subscribers to this STUDENT INTERNET ACCESS PLATFORM will use the service in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations, codes of practice. This includes:

i. All account subscriptions on this platform are deemed to be the personal and private credential of the student subscriber. Consequently, it shall not be shared, rented or sold.
ii. No subscriber will use or deploy tools to facilitate session or account hijacking.
iii. No subscriber shall use this service to perpetrate identity theft.
iv. No subscriber shall use this service for financial fraud
v. No subscriber shall use this service for email spamming or spoofing
vi. No subscriber shall use this service for any cyber-attack activity.
vii. No subscriber shall use this service cyberstalking or cyberbullying.
viii. No subscriber shall use this service to develop or distribute malicious software.
ix. No subscriber shall use this service for Digital Piracy
x. No subscriber shall use this service for Electronic Terrorism, Vandalism, or Extortion
xi. No subscriber shall use this service in such a way as to violate intellectual property rights

SERVICE RENEWAL & FEES

Your Subscription
a. Subscription FOR THE OAU STUDENT INTERNET ACCESS PLATFORM can be renewed if the DATA volume is exhausted.
b. All student subscribers (undergraduate and postgraduate) will pay an obligatory stipulated subscription fee.

APPLICATION PROCESS

How to Apply

b. Fill the on-line form - https://intecu.oauife.edu.ng/sia/#form
c. Print out completed and submitted on-line form.
d. Make payment on REMITA https://intecu.oauife.edu.ng/sia/#payments
e. Present REMITA payment receipt at Cash Office to collect OAU receipt.
f. Bring original OAU receipt and on-line form print-out to INTECU-CISCO lab.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Steps to Pay
a. All student subscribers (undergraduate and postgraduate) will pay an obligatory stipulated subscription fee.
b. This fee is N1,000 as at July 15, 2019.
c. Only MAKE PAYMENTS after registration is completed and successful.
d. All subscription payment shall be paid into the University TSA account via the REMITA platform. Select the “ICT Support” service name, with payment description, “STUDENT INTERNET ACCESS” using the GIMFIS code: 100017548.
e. Subscribers are required to obtain a receipt for their REMITA payment from the University cash office at the secretariat Building, new extension – for “Student Internet Access”.
f. Subscribers are required to bring the original of their OAU receipt for Student Internet Access to the INTECU between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm (Monday - Wednesday)

TERMINATION & PENALTIES

If You run foul...
a. A subscription may be terminated if the user violates the Acceptable Use terms.
b. Violation of these terms will attract appropriate penalties as stipulated by the Nigeria Cybercrime Act 2015 - https://www.cert.gov.ng/resources/article/cybercrime-prohibition-prevention-etc-act-2015-document.
